ROCK VALLEY HAY AUCTION CO.

After nearly 30 years of ownership of Rock Valley Hay Auction Co., Paul McGill has decided to retire and intends to offer the business for sale. The Hay Auction began in Rock Valley, Iowa, in the 1930s (with records of advertising dating back to the mid-1940s). Since its start, the Hay Auction has continued buying and selling hay weekly to local customers and to customers throughout the Midwest and Canada. Paul purchased the Hay Auction in 1996 and is the sole Shareholder of Rock Valley Hay Auction Co., an Iowa Business Corporation (IRS Subchapter S).

Rock Valley Hay Auction Co.’s operations consist of two main components. One is the brokering/auctioning of the hay, straw, alfalfa, and grass between Sellers and Buyers. For purposes of this Offer, this component will be referred to as the “Hay Auction Business” and will be sold separately from the other component, the trucking, loading and unloading of the hay, straw, alfalfa, and grass. 

The Hay Auction Business sale will include tangible and intangible assets related to the auction sales and will be sold for a “lump sum”.

The Yard is leased and owner of yard is willing to continue a lease with new buyer.

The Equipment and Trucking sale assets are offered separately.

In addition to assets being sold, Paul is willing to provide an option to rent a shop building with favorable terms.
